My friend Shady forwarded me a survey and I have finally completed my answers! Sorry it took so long!
I am required to answer the 19 survey questions and then pass the questionaire along to 4 more bloggers. Here goes!
Survey Questions:
1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals, or are they members of your family?
Well, anyone who reads my blog knows that I see my 6 pets as much more than just animals. They are definitely my children!
2. If you can have a dream to come true, what would
it be?This is a tough one! I would love to sing a duet with James Taylor, or have an amusement park all to myself for a day, or win the lottery! But less selfishly, I would want hunger to end. It is so senseless for people to go hungry when there are so many that have more than they need.
3. What is the one thing most hated by you?
A bully
4. What would you do with a billion dollars?
I would do the obvious things, like quit my job, pay bills, shopping spree, new house and car, and helping my family members live comfortably. Then I would do some traveling. But I would love to invest some money for an animal sanctuary for any animals who don't have a home or have been abused or abandoned.
And I would get really nice cameras so I can have fun with photography.
5. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?
Listening to music or playing with my dogs
6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being
loved by someone? being loved
7. What is your bedtime routine?
I get the dogs settled inside, and read my book until I fall asleep. My husband is always taking my glasses off my face and putting them and my book away.
8. If you are currently in a relationship, how did you
meet your partner?
I was 25 and working for a medical office. We were upgrading our medical billing software and the salesman/computer guy was there. My coworkers were throwing me a surprise housewarming party and they invited him to come too. We hit it off instantly but he lived 2 1/2 hours away. He called me everyday and even though I tried to tell him that a long distance relationship probably wouldn't work and I wasn't ready for a relationship, he would not take no for an answer. After a couple of years of traveling, we married in 2002.
9. If you could watch a creative person in the act of
the creative process, who would it be?either James Taylor in the recording studio or Jack Hanna on a wildlife safari
10. What kinds of books do you read?
All kinds of books, but mostly fiction. I have read most of Oprah's book list, and follow authors like Ken Follett, Jodi Picoult, and Dean Koontz. I just finished reading "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett.
11. How would you see yourself in ten years time?
I would love to be in a new home, with a job I enjoy, and be more financially stable.
12. What’s your fear?Losing a family member (death). And spiders.
13. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your
life for the opportunity to visit outer space?I don't think so. I don't really want to go to outer space, and I love potato chips too much.
14. Would you rather be single and rich or married
but poor? Married and poor
15. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?hit the snooze button!
16. If you could change one thing about your
spouse/partner what would it be?his messiness
17. If you could pick a new name for yourself
what would it be?Lola
18. Would you forgive and forget no matter how
horrible a thing that special someone has done?
Forgive maybe. Forget probably not.
19. If you could only eat one thing for the next
6 months, what would it be?Grilled cheese sandwiches or french fries
Now, I would like to tag the following four bloggers to participate in the survey:
Thisisme. at Southhamsdarling
Kathiey at Kathiey's World
lyndylou at THE GIGGLE FEST
Belle at Tales From a Loser
Karen, these are great answers! I knew what your answer to #1 would be when I sent you the survey. I found your answer to #7 to be especially heartwarming. When your husband removes your glasses and puts away your book after you fall asleep it's a very loving gesture. The account of how the two of you met is also a very sweet and romantic story for Valentine's day. Thank you for participating and have a wonderful Valentine's celebration, Karen!
ReplyDelete"Lola" that is hilarious. No one is named Lola anymore.
ReplyDeleteGlad you finally got around to getting this posted and I kind of knew what some of your answers would be but didn't know how much you thought of James Taylor. I hope your night out was fun and all you wanted it to be. Talk to you soon.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Dad
Hi Karen. Wow, that's quite a challenge you've set me there. I have been in bed with flu for the past 3 days , but I will do the survey later this week. You gave some really good answers by the way.
ReplyDeleteI like Lola :-)
ReplyDeleteThisisme, I am sorry to hear that you have been sick! I hope you are feeling better soon. Take your time on the survey (it only took me 2 WEEKS!) :)
ReplyDeleteKal, I love your blog! I think it is the best blog I have seen. I love cats too and have 2 of my own.
Chief, Lola is a fun nickname I acquired in Germany when I was a foreign exchange student. The family I lived with called me Lola the mouse, so I have always liked that name. When I go to my South Carolina football games, all my tailgating friends call me Lola because we have another Karen in the group.
Dad (Odie), Thanks, I did have a nice time last night. The food was wonderful as usual. I had seafood linguine with mussels, clams, lobster, salmon, shrimp and scallops. It was DELISH!
Oh wow, thank you for tagging me in this! I loved your answers and Lola is such a COOL name :)I also liked your husband taking off your glasses when you'd fallen asleep, so loving!
ReplyDeleteI've also read all Jodie Picoult books and an awful lot of Dean Koontz too. We have a lot in common.
The last question asked for one. Gotta pick. Can't have two. :D
ReplyDeleteSo what is it - grilled cheese or french fries.
OK I pick grilled cheese! :)
ReplyDeleteHi! Just dropped by via Thisisme's blog and fell in love with your dogs. I just had to sign up to follow after that.
ReplyDeleteLove your answers too. I'm with you on Dean Koontz, Jodi Picoult and grilled cheese.
Sorry to dash. Hubby thinks I'm hoovering and clearly I'm not :)
Warm wishes

Love your blog, "Lola"! :) I am a huge dog lover, too! I have two Golden Retrievers.
ReplyDeleteYou gave such interesting answers to the questions. I thought I was already following you, but I guess I goofed up. Anyway, I am following now!
ReplyDeleteI love how your husband was determined to have you whether he lived far away or not.
Thank you so much for thinking of me and passing this survey to me. I do feel grateful. But I'm afraid I have already answered this survey. You are as sweet as your dad!
Elvis used to rent a whole amusement park for himself and his friends. I would love to do that too!
Great answers....BTW, I hate spiders too....:)
ReplyDeleteJust noticed that you are now following my blog! Thank you!! :)
ReplyDeletelyndylou sent me your way. I must say I was intrigued by the name of the blog, but I was hooked when I saw the banner. Go Gamecocks! And the love of a good dog and the snooze button are two of my favorite things in the world.

Hi....I've handed over the Stylish Blogger Award to you...would be great if you accepted it..
ReplyDeleteHahah I laughed at two things in this post. First, the fact that you put spiders and death as equally bad. Then, the fact that you would skip outer space because you would miss chips too much. I have to agree with that. =)
